These are two of the approximately
85 wild whooping cranes living around Necedah Wildlife Refuge in Wisconsin.
They don't realize that the possibility of extinction is very
real for their species. They don’t know
there are only about 89 other pair of whooping cranes, split between two
colonies.
What they knew this day was the weather was comfortable, the
fishing was fine, and life was good.
They don’ know that they are living on the edge.
