Encyclopedia of Moi: M

Mairiamu:  She is one our sponsor children thru Compassion.  She is in a Kenyan boarding school called “the rescuing place”.  She lives there to escape female circumcision and an early marriage.  She wants to continue her education.

Maasai:  All of my life I have found this East African culture fascinating.  And now I sponsor TWO Maasai children – Mairiamu and “Nt” (who you will meet in the next EOM).

Mwayi:  She is our sponsor child in Tanzania thru Compassion.

Missions:  This is my place within the church.  It’s part of my life and colors almost everything I do.

May:  This is my sweet May.  I owned her in the early 90s.  No, she is not beautiful on the outside but she was fabulous.  I could put a child up on her and she would be oh-so-careful.  I got up and it was like “Hey Mom… you awake?” as she crow-hopped to see if I was paying attention!

Mules:  Mules are great.  They are smart, willing to work as long as you work too, and have a great sense of humor.  Just don’t cross them – “A mule will labor ten years willingly and patiently for you, for the privilege of kicking you once.”  ~ William Faulkner

Models:  I have collected model horses since childhood.  They were my #1 toy…no dollies for me!  As an adult, not so much but I will occasionally get one that really catches my eye.  (Notice my spotty jumping mule in the bottom left corner?)

MacFie:  My Scottish clan affiliation from my paternal grandmother’s side.  She was a MaHaffey which is a sept of the Clan MacFie.

Mikhail Baryshnikov:  Wow, wow, wow!!!  Watching him dance can bring tears to my eyes.  He is just beautiful.  One of my all-time favorite movie scenes is from “White Nights” where he and Gregory Hines are dancing in unison.  This video shows that performance.  Wow!

Marzipan:  The best candy in the world.  Cover it with dark, dark chocolate…  Oh my!
