It’s that time of the year again!!! Operation Christmas Child shoebox packing day!!!
As is now our tradition on October 31st, Himself and I pulled out the boxes of things I had been collecting thru the year. We sorted and figured out what we needed to buy that I hadn’t stockpiled (after holiday clearance sales and before school sales are fantastic bargains).
With the list in hand, we headed off to Dollar Tree and Wal-Mart. Didn’t take long to finish as we didn’t need much this year.
Then we went out to dinner at Fujiyama; our favorite sushi restaurant.
Once home we packed each box.
We do 4 boxes for the oldest age level of boys – since this is the one least donated.
And we now do a box in honor of Little Bird and Little Hoss… the youngest age level, which is 2-4 years old. Next year we’ll take the kids will be old enough to take shopping with us and they can help pack the box!
Here’s Little Bird’s box for a baby girl.
And Little Hoss’s box for a baby boy.
Samaritan’s Purse now has an option where you can pay the handling cost online and track where your box was sent. We’ll do that too.
It will be interesting to see where they go!
