Of UFOs and PhDs...

One of the fun things I'm doing this year is joining up with two groups out of local crafting shops with the purpose of getting projects done.

The first is the UFO group at Golden Threads quilt shop.  I have a VERY unfinished object... a quilt I started about 33 years ago.  Yep... 3 decades.  I got a very infected thumb from jabbing myself all the time and it became a PIG.  I'm going to finish it this year.  It was to be a present for Himself and now will be doubly.  You see, I have some quilt squares that his grandmother made.  I'm going to work them into the quilt.  Goal is to be able to take it to the machine quilter Jan 2018.

My second group is the PhD group at Yarn Asylum.  This group not only allows 'projects half done' but also encourages NESTY.  This year I plan on learning to weave in a method called 'saori'.

I'm looking forward to it.

TIH!
