My 'Charlie Brown' Tree

"Enchanted Tree" by Kimberly Santiago

Having enjoyed my mixed media class so much last month, tried another class taught by Kimberley.  She has a monthly painting class at a local deli that is close to me (close as in first thing I go past in the 15 miles to town!).  The subject was her painting “The Enchanted Tree”.

I didn’t get many photos as I was so focused on what I was doing.

Fortified with my orange Fanta, I started out making a large circle of blended paints that covered the canvas.

Isn’t it amazing out everyone using the same supplies and the same example will make something that looks so different?

The two hours went quickly. I’m glad the painting is slightly abstract as my efforts at doing a tree leaves a lot to be desired. Kind of reminds me of one of those “topped” trees I was fussing about a few weeks ago. Poor thing! LOL  I’m definitely more ‘Picasso’ than ‘Shishkin’!

I can’t wait for my next class!

  3. I think you did quite well on your little tree. And to quote Linus: "Maybe it just needs a little love."
