Bonsai Open House

Bonsai Club has a members only garden tour last month.  Four members opened up their yards for a combination garden tour and progressive meal.  So much fun!

It was made more interesting by the fact that each garden was completely different.

Garden 1

John is relatively new to the bonsai hobby.  He has a few purchased trees and many that he is working on from nursery stock.

Don has lovely established trees in the most tradition bonsai garden of the tour.

Garden 3

Leon's garden is less 'bonsai garden' and more 'Zen garden'.  It is a beautiful oasis in the middle of a suburban neighborhood.

Garden 4

Amy's garden combines traditional bonsai garden style with a bit of whimsy.   Her trees are the most award winning ones of the tour.  In fact, one of the trees is an Artisan's Cup winner (one of the highest awards in bonsai showing).

This is the fabulous tree!

It was a fantastic day... well worth getting out in the TN summer heat.  And if you've known me for any length of time, you know that is saying a lot!  LOL
